Chuuk Lagoon ( americanized to Truk Lagoon ) was the site of a success US naval action in WWII.  The US Navy launched a suprise air raid and caught a fleet Japanese naval and merchant ships in port.   This resulted in a large number of shps being sunk in relatively shallow depth.  Chuuk in now know as the best site in the world for wreck diving.  The water is clear and warm with lots of fish life and little current.  Pair this with the beauty of a tropical island and you have a one in a lifetime experience.
