Belize Home The People The Intervention The Pranks The Flounder

A group of 18 people departed Atlanta for a pre-Christmas vacation on the Belize Aggressor. Wonderful weather, wonderful diving and a wonderful time had by all.

Notice that this trip was before I got my Ikelite flash. That means the pictures tend to be blue and poorly lit ( and exposed ). Oh well...

The Belize Aggressor III is a110' yacht that takes about 18 passengers. We filled it up. The diving is off of the platform on the back. You set up your gear once and it gets filled in place. Definately the way to dive. There are 5 dives a day with one after dinner.

The quantity and diversity off life is great. Most of the dives were on walls. Nice 60' - 90' on the way out and come back around 20' - 40' on top of the wall and under the boat.

I can never get a good shot of an eagle ray. I had to convert this to B&W to remove the blue. This shot was taken during a sprint down the wall to get this close. A couple of seconds later a quick flick of the wings took it out of camera range. Kinda blew my air consumption for this pic.

Reminds me off a vase of flowers.

Some of our group in a nice silhouette. Notice the high-viz yellow split fins. They will be important later.

The small life was represented well. These two thought I might need a little cleaning. The macro capabilities of the Coolpix 5000 were a definite asset. Of course a flash would help also.

Schools of fish would camp underneath the boat while we were moored.

There is a sequence of the flounder photos. Here is the beginning.
